“Why fit in, when you were born to stand out!” – Dr Seuss
Amanda Collins and Steve Bourne have a 1 year old son, Mack, with Albinism. They are organising a fundraising cocktail party to raise funds for the AFA!
Please help us get the word out. The full introductory letter is here.
From the letter:
“Our 1 year old son Mack and his ‘mates’ have albinism. They were born to stand out, however, unlike your business they don’t always stand out in a way they want to.”
““Mack’s Mates” are supporting the Albinism Fellowship of Australia (AFA), a not for profit National Charity. AFA have provided many families with support and education, for a condition that is often misunderstood. Our goal is not only to raise the much needed funds to enable the AFA to continue their services, but to also raise awareness and understanding of albinism within the community.”
“The inaugural “MACK’S MATES” Cocktail Function will be held on 18th October 2014 at The Lakehouse, Brightwater Hotel, Sunshine Coast commencing at 6:30 pm. This event, catering for 300 people will celebrate the unique gift of albinism with all profits donated to the AFA.”
“The evening will be filled with music, fun, celebration and a chance to win a car!
The friends we choose are important, because our friends are those who accept us for who we are.”
