New Names for Our AFA Mascots

I am writing to introduce you to our newly named Boy and Girl mascots.

As you know during the recent conference in Melbourne, lots of children entered our Colouring In competition and also had to nominate names for the boy and girl in the picture. After the pictures were judged and prizes given, we put all the nominated names in a list so that the committee could meet and decide what names to choose.

From now on our girl mascot will be known as “Lily White” and our boy mascot will be known as “Max Factor”.

We hope you like the names that were chosen.

The Committee would like to thank all the children for their entries and their parents for supporting the Albinism Fellowship of Australia.

I would also like to inform you that only the list of nominated mascot names was sent to the committee and not the name of the child who chose the name. Therefore these names were chosen by the committee without knowing who submitted them.

Results of Colouring in Competition

Thank you to everyone who entered our recent colouring in competition. All the entries were absolutely wonderful. In fact they were so wonderful that our judges Ted and Elizabeth had such a difficult time in choosing our winners. Finally they had to decide that our Under 5 Years winner was Toby Bakker, congratulations Toby. The winner for our 5 – 9 Years was Jacob Raffoul, congratulations Jacob, and our 10 – 15 years winner was Sarah Asif, congratulations Sarah.

Thank you to all the children and their parents for supporting AFA in the colouring in competition.

Thank you also for all your ideas for the names of our girl and boy mascot. The names have been put into a huge list that will take some time to work through. When the committee decides who they will be they will let you all know.

Congratulations to everyone who entered and thank you.

Rick Guidotti Photographic Exhibition

Rick Guidotti is coming to Brisbane for the SSBP Conference, his photographic exhibition is on display at the Brisbane Powerhouse from 14th September through to 17th October. There is a cocktail party on 5th October 2011 at Brisbane Powerhouse from 6.30pm – 8.30pm, where Rick Guidotti will be talking about his work, tickets for this will be $60. This cocktail party is open to all interested persons as well as those attending the SSBP Conference.
